88% of managers do not believe their teams are productive working remotely

A new survey of 20,000 by Microsoft shows how little trust most managers have in their teams.

When asked “Do you feel productive when you work remotely?”, 87% of workers said they felt as productive or more productive working remotely than in the office.

Yet when managers were asked “Do you have confidence that your employees are being productive?“, only 12% of managers said they were fully confident.

This difference is why it is so hard for many companies to embrace hybrid and remote working.

Microsoft also points out that Gen Z, the youngest generation, is likely to want the flexibility of hybrid and remote work.

The companies that help their managers and leaders out on place systems to build trust and collaboration remotely will be the ones that innovate the fastest in the coming years.
