Drone delivery company Wing is launching a high-tech new drone delivery network that is designed to make it possible for drones to go about carrying multiple delivery orders without always having to return to their base in between, allowing for for efficient and streamlined deliveries.
The ‘Wing Delivery Network’ comprises high-tech features such as ‘AutoLoader’ stations that will keep packages ready for drones to come and pick up. These stations are designed to carry out drone pickups without the need for human intervention. The stations make use of a pair of arms that invite drones to hover above and pick up deliveries, aided by painted QR codes. What’s more, the ‘AutoLoader’ stations don’t require a data connection.
By simplifying the process of pickup and delivery, Wing is bidding to roll out a drone delivery network that will have the efficient and speedy functionality necessary to ensure widespread industry uptake.
