The ‘Primitive Structures’ table design has been designed by Jongwon Lee as a series of stone-like furniture pieces constructed with a naturalistic form in mind. The tables are constructed using recycled parallel strand lumber (PSL) and embraces the rustic aesthetic of the material as part of the visual intrigue of the pieces. Inspired by Korean architecture, the tables have a distinct stone-like texture that’s enhanced with treatment to allow the wood grains to show through and give each piece a unique appearance.
The ‘Primitive Structures’ table design identifies what could be done to utilize waste materials and give new life to discarded items. The furniture shows off a beautiful form that could also be easily recycled after use unlike other pieces on the market.
